[The tent was old and way too big for just two people, but he'd gotten it years ago for cheap and like hell was he gonna go buy a new one when this one did the job. Well, as long as it didn't rain - from his crouch at the entrance he looked up between the trees - still clear skies, mild weather, and a light evening breeze.
Maybe he should try to find a tarp anyway. The house might be 15 meters away but goddamnit they were camping, and if it rained they were gonna be prepared. He took a moment to stick his head back into the tent, going over all the supplies for the eleventh time... Finally pulled back and stood to light a cigarette, satisfied.]

She wanders inside, the cool air in the house washing over her as she steps in and closes the door behind her. She can hear some rustling in the next room and she peeks in to check on Lodewijk, who is pacing circles knowing that someone is inside with him again.
She heads into the kitchen, rifling through the fridge for his greens and sneaking a few leaves over to his cage, smiling as she feeds them to him through his cage. ]
Don't tell Broer.
[ She says it softly, as if he's in the house with her, giving the rabbit a wink before she heads back inside. She grabs an apron big enough off a hooks and puts it on before filling a tray with a few other things and heads back out... just WAITING for him to say something about her bringing out more than the apron. ]

When she comes out he's nibbling on a piece of cheese, looking much like his rabbit would, shoes and socks kicked off somewhere along the way so that he can feel the grass without getting his hands dirty. He watches her cross the yard, but he's
highcontent enough that he merely tries to peer at what she has, curious. If it's something dumb he'll bitch. Maybe.]

I'm just gonna make a quick skillet dinner with sausage and potatoes. I promise it'll be good.

It's always good.
[Nibbling on cheese and wondering why she always says that, over here. He can't talk and eat at once so he's working on the cheese right now, idly watching her.]

She may be high but she's doing this without any trouble, practiced hands working gracefully through each item, humming absently to herself. ]

Hm, too low if it's on the ground... He leaves the beer and abruptly stands, intent on finding the perfect place to hang it.]

She glances up at him as she gets the sausage in the skillet to cook, tending to it. ]
There's a hook on that side of the canopy over the tent.

[It takes a second of blinking at her for her words to catch up to him, and then he's blinking over at said hook.]
Huh. Damn. [That's more of a half-whistled "I must be high" damn. Maybe a bit of a self-depreciating "how did I miss that" one, too. He mutters thanks and trots over to it, crossing his arms to evaluate the light distribution across their little campsite.]

Turns back tot he sausage, moving it around before it can burn before she starts adding a few other things, the potatoes, herbs, spices and seasonings. ]
It's fine for now. Once we get it back in the tent it'll light up the entire thing, right?

[Yeah, he doesn't sound too worried about that, because he's worried over something else:]
Y'can see, right...
[Guess it doesn't matter, because the smell has him slowly creeping closer until he's nearly standing on top of her.]

[ He's got a lantern shining relatively close and there's still a little light left lingering in the sky. Then she feels him right behind her and she smiles at him. ]
It won't be long.

[Impatient over here. He sinks down by her and tries to snatch some sausage from the skillet like the idiot he is.]

You okay?

Mmhmm.
[Fingers are still stuck in his mouth though.]

You knew it was hot, Broer. You shouldn't have done that. But as long as you're alright...
no subject
Yeah...
[But.]
Still hungry.
[Grumble grumble bitch kvetch.]
no subject
You have your beer and cheese. Just snack on that until this is done.
no subject
It takes too long.

With a sullen look he folds his hands into his lap and stares at the not-cooking-quickly-enough potatoes. He doesn't have an argument about that...]
Could microwave it.
[Nah, he still does. But mostly it's to aggravate her.]
no subject
Absolutely not! That's NOT cooking. And you said that would be cheating.
