[The tent was old and way too big for just two people, but he'd gotten it years ago for cheap and like hell was he gonna go buy a new one when this one did the job. Well, as long as it didn't rain - from his crouch at the entrance he looked up between the trees - still clear skies, mild weather, and a light evening breeze.
Maybe he should try to find a tarp anyway. The house might be 15 meters away but goddamnit they were camping, and if it rained they were gonna be prepared. He took a moment to stick his head back into the tent, going over all the supplies for the eleventh time... Finally pulled back and stood to light a cigarette, satisfied.]

Uhm, are we chopping firewood? Why do you have a hatchet out here?
no subject
Wanted one.
[Because you never know, Bel.]
no subject
And the cooktop? I could have just made you something inside.
no subject
[Hmph. Cooking inside is cheating. On that note he seems to have decided that the cooler can stay outside, and moves on to locate an ashtray. Surely he brought one out...]

[ Did he remember... or is it inside?
Either way, she's shaking her head and walking around to inspect the tent from the outside, looking for rips or tears. ]
This tent is so big.
no subject
Yeah.
[Not elaborating on why, though. Just acknowledging that it is.]

[ She glances at him, offering a smile before carefully lifting the skirt of her dress before carefully crawling in. ]
no subject
[Welp, sidetracked by those skirts. His eyes follow her in, though he doesn't. He still has a beer to drink.]
no subject
You could fit eight people in here, easy!
no subject
[Fuck it, he's chugging it, just so he can peer in and give her a flat look.]
It was cheap.
no subject
Can't imagine you dishing out the money for a tent this big brand new.
no subject
'Cause I didn't.
[Not... that he moves, at all. Even though he should really set this empty bottle down and dump his spent cigarette into it.]
no subject
[ She gives him a curious look before sitting up a little straighter. ]
What is it? Do you need help with something out there?
no subject
No.
[He takes a second to look around - yeah, there's plenty of room. Good.]
no subject
So why'd you get such a big one?
no subject
[It really isn't more complicated than that, so he leaves it there and starts searching around for a lantern - the sun's going down - and his stash.]
no subject
[ As if it could be anything else. She leans back on her hands and watches him as he fishes around for something. ]
What're you looking for?
no subject
My weed. Packed it somewhere.
[In a few waterproof bags ensconced within another bag, of course. Hey, this shit was good, and even if it wasn't he was not about to let it go to waste.]

no subject
[Totally legit. And, hey, he finds it... pulls it out and isn't sure what to do in the face of her disdain. Welp.]
no subject
[ She glances at the bag before snatching it up and looking it over, before she tosses it back to him. ]
Roll it up.
no subject
Looks over at her as he licks the paper, expression neutral, but he can't quite keep the teasing look out of his eyes. Ha ha, you asked, Bel. Though he might not say it aloud, his brows do - this is some serious shit. Good shit, no skimping. A shift and he has his lighter out from his pocket, only lighting it as a courtesy before handing it over.]
no subject
Still, she can't help but admire the care he puts into rolling this one. She isn't sure if this is just how he always does it or if he's putting such care into it because SHE told him to roll one up but she takes it carefully once it's lit, looking at him for a moment before bringing it to her lips and taking a drag.
She holds it in for a long moment, letting out a soft cough before handing it back to him, exhaling a long stream of smoke through her mouth and nostrils. ]
no subject
Until she holds it back out, that is. Like he's gonna waste it. He plucks it from her fingers, easy, and takes a drag, just as easy. The second drag, though, he lets his eyes flutter shut for, and keeps them shut once it hits. After - he holds it out, eyes still closed, and lets it burn for a moment. Just. Adjusting. He keeps it there, hanging between them, not too concerned over who gets it next, or if it burns out in the meantime.]
no subject
She takes it from him, the tips of her fingers brushing his lightly as she grips it between them, bringing it back to her lips for another long, slow drag.
It has been a while since she's smoked anything, let alone this-- she's lost the feel for the burn in her throat and smoke in her lungs. But it is familiar. And it only takes a minute or so to start feeling what she wasn't expecting for at least a few more hits.
There's a sudden wave of lightness, a euphoria that washes over her slowly, trickling down her neck and shoulders, trailing down her spine and sides, her mind feeling as though all of her thoughts are uncoiling slowly, one by one.
There's a small smile as she slowly blows out a third time, slowly resting back against the padded sleeping bag beneath her, eyes fluttering closed as she holds it out for him. ]
