[Which is. Actually not a booty call. He's just all sorts of protective after the mask shit, and with none of the paranoia it leant him. Thank fuck for Medbay.]
[Not that he won't worry over it, because hey, he's got a rabbit and an invisible dog sounds like bad news - but he trusts her to keep Lodewijk out of harm's way.
His room is too damn clean for him to even attempt at preoccupying himself with it while he waits, but, well. He does anyway. Sorts out his desk, over and over, more for something to do, but in the end he ends up smoking as Lodewijk sleeps in his bed in the corner.]
[As soon as he hears her voice he opens the door, bunny in one arm - doesn't even bother looking around the hall before he jerks his head back. Come in.
His room is markedly different from most. Clean, first off. As in you could probably lick any surface clean. One bed, one dresser, one desk, one chair. Everything else has been taken apart and repurposed - made into shelves, closets. Both closets are shuttered off but one is for clothing and the other glows from the grow lamp. Not that he elaborates or even makes a move toward it. What he does do, though, is greet her proper - three kisses to the cheek - steps back and steps aside, begins sorting through the contents of his top drawer.]
[ A proper greeting from Netherlands ends in Jaye standing there looking confused, but that's okay since he's ruffling through one of his drawers anyway. Shaking it off, she starts to look around his room instead. ]
Oh yeah?
[ She hasn't figured out what that has to do with anything. ]
[Yeah, he doesn't really care how it's taken so long as it happens. He's chalking his newfound touchiness up to the mask and since that's better than paranoia who's to question it.]
Yeah. Pocketwatch - [and there he finds it, lifts it up by the chain] - got a date on it. All that fancy shit.
[A thanks too soon, Jaye, because - for whatever reason he's not letting it go. And even he doesn't seem to get it, because he scowls at his own hand and huffs. What the hell.]
[For whatever fucked up reason he almost snorts at that - keeps his hand on the watch, yeah, but grins and moves to kiss the line of her hair because goddamnit Jaye of all the people to be around for this development this is the best option - someone who won't freak on him.]
Okay. I'll, uh -
[He's already got Lodewijk, but that's the first thing he goes to. So he reluctantly sets the watch down and turns his back to her, plays with his rabbit and tries to drown out the noise it'll make when she picks it up.]
[ She's freaking out a little on the inside, but freaking out internally is one thing. Freaking out where he can see it isn't going to help anyone. So Jaye waits until he's settled in with his bunny, until he's hopefully relaxed a little more, and then she goes to pick up the watch and stash it away in her pockets. ]
[The room's a little too quiet for him not to hear the sound it makes, but other than stilling somewhat as he coos and scratches behind Lodewijk's ears, he doesn't do anything. Doesn't even turn around, just in case.]
[Hey. He already said he wouldn't and if he knew that that was why she'd changed he'd be huffing all over the place. Instead he blinks down at the Jaye-rabbit and gives a weak chuckle, kneels and sets Lodewijk down. Cute.]
[ To be fair, he said it in the most Ned-like way possible. Besides, he had seemed to enjoy her and Lodewijk playing as bunnies before. Maybe this will help. Either way, she's happily bouncing over to sniff at the other rabbit. ]
[Definitely takes his mind off of it. As usual Lodewijk is a hundred times more chill than he is and doesn't even hold back, let alone act suspicious or surprised. Bunny playtime it is - he bounds away only to come back with a chewed up grass ball, tosses it her way.]

Jaye shows up a while later, knocking on the door and telling Howly to sit and wait from just past it. ]
's Jaye.

Got a real watch. Last jump.

Yeah. Pocketwatch - [and there he finds it, lifts it up by the chain] - got a date on it. All that fancy shit.
[It's from Eames, and that he doesn't say.]
Should still work - if nothin' else does.

[ Since her parents died, but she doesn't say that. Instead she just leans in to look at it. ]
... Wait, what do you mean?
no subject
Hm?
[What does she mean, what.]

[ Ned you have to be straightforward with her. ]

[ She's not sure what else to say, so instead she wraps her fingers around the pocketwatch. ]
I... thanks.

Uh.

Is it stuck or something?

I don't - [know. HUFF.] - rip it. I won't -
[Won't pull any shit, now that he's said that, and the line his mouth makes is so damn rueful over it.]

[ She doesn't want his other hand to get in on this and take a swing at her. ]

So instead she turns into a rabbit and hops over. It's not like he can take the watch from her when she's a bunny. ]
